SA producer gets funding for international faith-based series --

South African TV producer and format creator, Bert DuToit has just secured international funding for World Shakers, a first-of-its-kind, faith-based TV series and feature film. World Shakers will be a docu-reality film, and a 13- part reality TV series that will see 12 volunteers from across the globe going on a 40- day mission trip into rural Tanzania. The film and series will showcase the emotional journey of these 12 ordinary individuals as they reach out to people in desperate need, while they themselves have to adapt to the challenges of the African environment.

DuToit used to be the development executive and supervising producer at Touchdown Africa, where he created and produced reality shows like YoBiz (SABC1), Vibez (SABC3) and Ispani (SABC1) before he left South Africa for a stint in Dubai, UAE.

I am extremely excited about World Shakers, says Bert. I ve been working on this project for nearly 10 years, and finally we re going to do it.

Although World Shakers will be produced by Torchlight Studios in Orlando, Florida, USA, Bert is currently putting a production team and crew together from both the USA and South Africa.

There are so many talented people in South Africa, and I m bringing them onto the team to ensure a high production-value product.

Pre-production for World Shakers is scheduled to start in February 2018.
