NetApp Positioned in Leaders Quadrant in Gartner's General-Purpose Disk Arrays Magic Quadrant Evaluation Based on NetApp's Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 26, 2013 Today, NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) announced that Gartner, Inc., positioned NetApp in the Leaders quadrant in its General-Purpose Disk Arrays Magic Quadrant for its FAS and V-Series arrays. According to Gartner, general-purpose disk storage systems are designed to address shared storage requirements within a single system that can support numerous virtual or physical servers, hosted virtual desktop infrastructures, and numerous databases and applications.

In the recently released research report, Magic Quadrant for General-Purpose Disk Arrays, Gartner stated that vendors in the Leaders quadrant have the highest scores for their ability to execute and completeness of vision. A vendor in the Leaders quadrant has the market share, credibility, and marketing and sales capabilities needed to drive the acceptance of new technologies. These vendors demonstrate a clear understanding of market needs; they are innovators and thought leaders; and they have well-articulated plans that customers and prospects can use when designing their storage infrastructures and strategies. In addition, they have a presence in the five major geographical regions, consistent financial performance and broad platform support.
