Aframe at the IBC Show 0

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more! September is no sooner upon us and we're off to Amsterdam again to enjoy all that the city, and more importantly Europe's leading broadcast event, has to offer.

This year Aframe will be hitting the IBC show harder than ever with not only a larger booth than last year (albeit with less horticulture!), we're also sponsoring a workflow event and speaking at three sessions during the show.

Aframe Booth We can be found demonstrating Aframes latest features and see how were changing the way you produce and broadcast video in Hall 9, booth B13. If you come to the you'll be able to see Aframe 2.0, launched at this year's NAB as well as new advancements in your ingest experience and a brand new Logger feature, launched especially for IBC. Sports Video Group Given our growing heritage in sports and news production, it made sense for us to join forces with the Sports Video Group (SVG). CEO David Peto will be a panel member at the SVG Sport Production Summit on Thursday 12 September. The main players in provisioning cloud-based workflows from Adobe, Avid, Tata and Aspera will also be speaking, so it promises to be a lively session.

Workflow Solutions As Diamond sponsor of the inaugural IBC Workflow Solutions, Aframe will be taking part in two seminar sessions during the show.

IBC Workflow Solutions has been designed to offer a range of different technology resources for IBC attendees interested in the cloud, media asset management systems, play out, storage and archive, and system integrations. The programme features a seminar series from Friday to Monday, as well as opportunities for delegates to see in detail the solutions being showcased.

During Aframe's two sessions, CEO David Peto will introduce Clyde Smith from FOX on Saturday morning to talk about how an Aframe workflow has been embedded at the US network.

On Sunday morning we will offer something a little different, with David chairing a panel discussion about the cloud's role in modern workflow development, featuring speakers from Sky, Arrow Media and the BBC.

Using the Cloud for Global Sports Broadcasting: a Groundbreaking New Workflow Speakers: David Peto (CEO & Co-founder, Aframe) and Clyde Smith (SVP New Technology, Fox Networks)

Fox Networks a unit of Fox Networks Group and includes 47 owned-and-operated and joint venture TV networks, video on demand and other media platforms. Together these networks reach more than 700 million television homes and represent one of the media industry's largest and most diverse programming groups.

Clyde Smith from Fox Networks will discuss how Aframe has been integrated into the broadcaster's workflow and the benefits they are experiencing from the cloud video platform.

Sunday 15 September, 10am

How the Cloud Delivers Efficiency in File Based Workflows Speakers: David Peto (CEO & Co-founder, Aframe), Cara Cheeseman (Head of Advanced Production & Innovation, Sky), Thomas Viner (Executive Producer, Arrow Media) and Bryan Phillips (Project Manager, BBC)

Cara Cheeseman from Sky will discuss how she sees the impact of cloud on file-based workflows across the television spectrum - from production to post.

Arrow Media's Thomas Viner used Aframe during the production of Hairy Bikers Restoration Road Trip', which recently aired on BBC2 in the UK. He will reflect on his experience of tapeless and how he sees the cloud helping producers in the future.

Bryan Phillips has spent 10 years at the BBC wrestling with a range of tape and digital workflows, across a wide selection of factual programme making. He used Aframe whilst making The Manor Reborn (a 4 x 60 minute doc for BBC1 primetime) in 2011.
