Two Kate Bush Tickets
Kids Company has been offered two tickets to the Kate Bush concert by a very kind donor! We would like to give you and a friend the chance to see the spectacular Kate Bush live in concert for the first time in 35 years!
The tickets are for the 30th September (pencil it in!) taking place at the Hammersmith Apollo London. The seats are situated together to the rear of the stalls so you'll be in a great position to see all the action! You will be asked to meet with the very generous donor at the entrance of the Apollo so that he can take you through to your seats.
Please ensure you state your name clearly so that it doesn't get missed in the draw! The lucky winner will be announced on Friday 26th September and will be contacted via email. To enter, we are asking for a £10 donation which will go straight to Kids Company, please click here
Any questions, please feel free to email danielle.levy@kidsco.org.uk
Donations of furniture and equipment urgently needed for the Bristol Urban Academy
Next month, we will be opening the Bristol Urban Academy to provide education to 15 to 23 year olds who have struggled to excel in traditional educational environments. The centre will be a replication of our hugely successful London Urban Academy. Building works are well underway and we are in the final stages of preparing the centre for opening next month. To enable us to open on time, we are in desperate need of donations of furniture and equipment, including sofas, desks, chairs, computers, white boards, printers, stationery, projectors, shelves and textbooks to deliver Maths and English.
If you think you can help then please get in touch with josie.curran@kidsco.org.uk
COMING UP
Hungry Childhoods Art Exhibition at The Kids Company Gallery
No child should ever have to suffer from hunger but sadly, for too many children in the UK, hunger and food insecurity is an increasingly common experience.
HUNGRY CHILDHOOD'S is an interactive art exhibition created by the exceptionally vulnerable children of Kids Company, who participated in research carried out by the University of Reading (commissioned by Kids Company and Ella's Kitchen) . The findings have revealed children and their parents struggling to cope with hunger, poor nutrition and chronic food insecurity. Through their artwork, this exhibition gives our children a strong voice and will help raise awareness of the hidden but growing problem of food insecurity experienced by marginalised and deprived children throughout the U.K.
The exhibition is on at The Kids Company Gallery, 38-40 Blackfriars Road, London SE1 8NZ, from 3rd-11th October 1pm-7pm (closed Sundays, free entry).
There are limited places for an exclusive preview of the exhibition on Thursday 2nd October 6.30pm-8pm. There will be drinks, courtesy of Aqua Shard, and talks from D r Kate Harvey from The University of Reading, Founder and CEO of Kids Company, Camila Batmanghelidjh and Paul Lindley, Founder of Ella's Kitchen . There will be opportunities on the night to donate to help us continue our vital work feeding vulnerable children and families suffering with food insecurity. If you'd like to join us please RSVP to laura.butterfield@kidsco.org.uk.
