IT Broadcast Workflow agenda unveiled

TVBEurope has released the provisional agenda for its IT Broadcast Workflow conference at BAFTA on 9 July, to be chaired again by Jeremy Bancroft of Media Asset Capital. Early Bird booking for this conference closes on 31 May.

The opening keynote will feature a discussion with the Digital Production Partnership (DPP) and the production community. A panel of industry players will examine the work of the DPP, highlighting a number of successes and industry changing initiatives.

The Platinum Presentation is Virtualising broadcast playout a life without cables'. Moving broadcast playout workflows into the cloud requires two big changes. The first -- removing tape and moving into a file-based world -- is on track. AS-11 and the work of the UK DPP have charted this course already. The second replacing point-to-point SDI and moving to flexible IP streams -- is the later challenge to be addressed.

This Platinum Presentation, sponsored by Cinegy, highlights in detail how innovative and cost effective technologies has allowed Deluxe in partnership with Cinegy to launch MediaCloud at NAB 2013 which offers broadcasters the ability to start delivering on the promise of the cloud today. Alex Stichbury, chief technology officer, DeluxeMediaCloud will lead the presentation, introduced by Lewis Kirkaldie, head of Product Management for Cinegy.

Charles Lesoil, chef de projet, CANAL+ - Direction Technique Edition will present a case study titled Content Exchange & Catchup TV platform'. The session will be introduced by Nick Kayworth, sales manager Systems and Solutions EMEA for sponsor Telestream.

Moving to a fully file-based core infrastructure' focuses on Irish national broadcaster RT 's project FAST File Acquisition and Server Technology. The speaker is Myles Donoghue, project manager, RT , supported by Tony Taylor, chairman & CEO, TMD.

Creating a holistic media organisation for content creation and distribution in a multiplatform world' is the topic to be tackled by Eric Minoli, CTO/CIO at TFO - La t l vision culturelle et ducative de lOntario fran ais, in a session introduced by Herv Obed, founder and CEO of sponsors ProConsultant Informatique (PCI).

And from Norway, Rune Hagberg, solutions architect at national broadcaster NRK, will tell us about NORDIF3: Nordic broadcasters use a cloud to exchange content'. This case study is sponsored by Tedial.
