The Adventures of Napkin Man, Rocket Monkeys and Zerby Derby Share In The Nominations Which Include Best Series Categories

TORONTO (January 14, 2015) - Breakthrough Entertainment has received 7 Canadian Screen Awards nominations for three of the company's top-rated children's series, each of which have earned Best Series nominations in their respective categories: The Adventures of Napkin Man, Rocket Monkeys and Zerby Derby.
The Adventures of Napkin Man received nominations for Best Preschool Program or Series and Best Host in a Preschool Children's or Youth Programming (for actor Yannick Bisson). Also in preschool, Zerby Derby was nominated in the Best Preschool Program or Series category and Best Cross-Platform Project - Children's and Youth for its interactive mobile and online project. Rocket Monkeys earned nominations including Best Animated Program or Series as well as Best Writing in an Animated Series (for writer Sean Cullen) and Best Performance in an Animated Series (for voice talent Mark Edwards).
Airing on CBC, The Adventures of Napkin Man was created by Josh Selig and Tone Thyne of Little Airplane Productions, and is a production of Breakthrough Entertainment in association with CBC and Little Tugboat. Executive Producers are Ira Levy, Josh Selig, Tone Thyne and Peter Williamson. Producers are Brenda Nietupski and Sharon Summerling, and the supervising producers are Stephanie van Bruggen and Suzie Gallo. Funding partners for the series are Canada Media Fund, Shaw Rocket Fund, COGECO Program Development Fund and Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund.
Airing on Teletoon in Canada and Nickelodeon worldwide, Rocket Monkeys is a production of Breakthrough Entertainment, created by Dan Abdo and Jason Patterson and developed by Alex Galatis and Mark Evestaff (who also serves as the show's producer). Executive Producers are Dan Abdo, Mauro Casalese, Mark Evestaff, Michael Feder, Joan Lambur, Ira Levy, Jason Patterson, and Peter Williamson. Supervising producer is Stephanie van Bruggen. The Shaw Rocket Fund served as a funding partner for the series.
Broadcast on TVO, Knowledge Network and TFO in Canada and Sprout in the United States, Zerby Derby was created by Phil McCordic (who also serves as the show's creative producer), and is a production of Breakthrough Entertainment in association with TVOKids, Knowledge Network and TFO. Executive Producers are Joan Lambur, Ira Levy, and Peter Williamson. The interactive producers are Dorothy Vreeker and Michael McGuigan. Funding partners for the series are Canada Media Fund and Shaw Rocket Fund. Funding partners for the interactive project are Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund, Shaw Rocket Fund and Canada Media Fund.

The 2015 ceremonies takes place as part of CANADIAN SCREEN WEEK scheduled for February 23 - March 1, 2015 in Toronto. The 2-Hour Live CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS BROADCAST GALA on CBC is Sunday March 1, 2015.
