eircom chooses Farncombe to support the launch of its new TV service, eVision

London, October 17th, 2013 - Farncombe, a leading provider of specialist consultancy and services to the digital TV industry, today announced that it has provided operational advisory services to Irish telco eircom for the creation, development and launch of its fibre-based TV platform, eVision.

As part of a multi-phase project, Farncombe started with a strategic review of eircom's technology strategy and requirements, and recommended which technologies and solutions should be adopted.

Farncombe assisted with the definition of the TV service platform and the specification of its features. The team provided support for the RFP process and supplier selection as well as having responsibility for content security and programme management.

In the last six months, Farncombe has worked with eircom to design, implement and manage a three-phase pre-launch trial programme. These trials provided eircom with a detailed understanding of its eVision platform and its operational performance, vital to any business ahead of such an important product launch.

Each trial phase gave eircom invaluable insight into consumers' feelings about using eVision in their homes. The trials were also pivotal in driving the readiness of the end-to-end technical and business operations within eircom.
