FIFA today announced that Morocco, Portugal, and Spain have been appointed hosts of the FIFA World Cup 2030, with three centenary-celebration matches to be held in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay (one in each country). Saudi Arabia will stage the FIFA World Cup 2034.

Congratulations to Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, and Saudi Arabia, said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. This is your day. You should celebrate, and we celebrate, of course, with you.
The hosts were selected by acclamation after a thorough bidding process initiated in October 2023 and the unanimous proposal by the FIFA Council. The selection was supported by all confederations, FIFA says, with a view to providing harmony and rotating the hosting cycle among the confederations.
Addressing the Extraordinary FIFA Congress ahead of the announcement, Infantino said, In today's divided world, where it seems that nobody can agree anymore on anything, to be able to agree on something like that is definitely an incredible message of unity and positivity. And we need these messages today.
Following the announcement, he described the World Cup as a unique catalyst for positive social change: They are tournaments, of course, to discuss, to debate, and to act. But, most important, today is a day of unity and a day of celebration.
