It's giving Tuesday and if you are in the sports production industry please consider a donation to the Sports Broadcasting Fund today! The SVG Sports Broadcasting Fund is the sports industry's first charity fund dedicated to providing assistance to industry professionals and their families in need and this year has distributed more than $300,000 to industry professionals across the U.S. And as we help more and more people every year we need more and more support to keep our mission going!

Since being established in 2012 the Fund has assisted hundreds of sports production professionals who have found themselves unable to work due to injury, illness, or disaster. The Fund offers financial assistance by directly paying bills on their behalf, offering some peace of mind during stressful life events so they can focus on healing or rebuilding the lives of themselves and their families.

Below are more details about the Fund and how it operates.The SVG Sports Broadcasting Fund is a not-for-profit, section 501(c)(3) corporation.

Who is eligible for assistance?

Applicants must have worked in the sports broadcasting production industry for one year. They can be a freelancer or can also be a full-time employee of a production company, team, league, network, or other associated company.

I lost work due to an event that was cancelled because of the coronavirus/COVID 19 pandemic. Can I apply for assistance?

Loss of work due to the cancellation of a production/event is not a qualifying event.

Are immediate family members eligible for support?

Yes, immediate family members of those employed in the sports broadcasting field are eligible for grant support. For example, if a husband, wife, or partner is undergoing medical treatments the fund can be used to help with those bills.
