At NAB 2013, AETA Audio Systems will present the new ScoopFone range, the most advanced and versatile professional mobile solution with HD Voice.

The rapid roll-out of wireless HD Voice with its 7 kHz wideband sound offers broadcasters a dramatic increase in audio quality over mobile networks. Unlike mobile data links, HD Voice delivers a priority connection with secure quality once the call is established all with lower cost and lower latency. The new ScoopFone range, together with Scoopy HD and Scoop 5, offers broadcasters a complete family of tools to take advantage of HD Voice's higher quality for on-the-spot reporting, wireless coordination, and for any live long-distance communication where quality matters.

AETA's new ScoopFone range includes ScoopFone HD designed as a portable unit and ScoopFone R, the rack version for fixed installations. ScoopFone HD is optimized for the rigors of practical mobile broadcasting supporting wireless HD Voice/GSM over both 3G and 2G. ScoopFone HD works with any microphone and offers mixing between one microphone/line and a second line input, together with a clear, well-designed interface that journalists can operate with confidence under pressure. Powered by rechargeable NiMH battery with integrated charger or standard AA batteries, ScoopFone HD provides up to 7 hours of continuous operation. An antenna diversity feature gives robust transmission performance in marginal conditions, increasing the reporter's effective range in the field.

The rack-mounted ScoopFone R is designed as a wireless telephone insert to provide further benefits from wireless HD Voice quality. It can receive HD Voice calls from the portable units Scoopy HD and ScoopFone HD, as well as improving the quality of calls from listeners or special guests using the last portable phones compatible with HD Voice.

AETA's other solutions for HD Voice include the portable Scoopy HD, which features in addition to wireless HD Voice service, IP networks, ISDN, PSTN, three audio inputs and recording.

Scoop 5 completes the HD Voice range, offering HD Voice, wireless data, IP, ISDN, and LL networks, all in a 1U rack. With its fanless operation and compact size, Scoop 5 is optimised for situations such as mobile broadcasting (OB) vans where space and noise are an issue.

Wireless HD Voice is such a radical improvement over narrowband that broadcasters are racing to deliver that breakthrough quality to their audiences, said Christophe Mahoux, General Manager, AETA. The cost of an HD Voice call is exactly the same as narrowband, and there's less latency because the HD Voice technology reduces the need for transcoding in the Telco infrastructure.
