GoPro Aletes Go Big at 06 Mountain Games

The 2016 GoPro Mountain Games wrapped on Sunday after events in all 12 of the disciplines crowned a victor. Over the course of four days, athletes competing in Bike, Climb, Disc, Fish, Kayak, Raft, Run, and SUP have pedaled, paddled, run, thrown, and climbed their way to the top of the Mountain Games podium.

GoPro athletes had an excellent showing at the Games with master-of-all-things-paddle Dane Jackson (@DaneJacksonKayak) taking the win in both the Kayak Freestyle and the 8-Ball Kayak Sprint. He added to his medal count with a 3rd in the SUP Skills invitational as well. GoPro athlete Izzi Gomez (@IzziGomez_) also grabbed the bronze on the Women's side of the SUP Skills Invitational. Kayaker and SUPer Nick Troutman (@NickTroutmanKayak) made his mark on the 2016 games by paddling his way to a bronze in the Steep Creek race.

SUP athlete Chuck Patterson (@ChuckPatterson) even stepped out of his comfort zone by stepping off of his paddleboard and jumping into a kayak. After learning to flip a kayak just the day before, Chuck paddled in the 8 Ball Kayak Sprint against 4 pro kayakers while 10 more attempted to smash competitors around in what he described as the Bumper boats from Hell. As you could expect, it was quite the spectacle.

A handful of GoPro's social advocates also came to the games to join the fun. Even Loki The Wolfdog (@Loki_The_Wolfdog) and his entourage could be found running through the village before sunrise capturing content before the crowds came during the day.
