The Lexicon 480L is one of the most easily recognizable pieces of studio hardware of all time, with its LARC remote control occupying the center consoles of studios across the globe since its introduction in the 1980s. Now, Universal Audio present the only officially licensed emulation of the classic studio reverb with its algorithmically mouldable ambience and modulation capabilities.

What's also particularly special about this emulation is the fact that, as well as featuring classic reverbs, it also recreates the Lexicon 480Ls random time-varying Effects algorithm - available for the first time ever - providing dramatic reverse, doubling, tremolo and chorus sounds. Combined with its unique four-voice Twin Delay algorithm, the Effects algorithm turns the 480L into a versatile multi-effects system with unending creative potential, say UA.

Available to owners of UAD DSP hardware and audio interfaces (Apollo and Arrow), the Lexicon 480L Digital Reverb and Effects Plug-In will cost $349.

Four Direct Developer plug-ins are also being launched as part of UAD v9.7:

The Softube Vocoder Plug-In ($199) generates iconic robotic vocal textures with classic analog vocoder tone and features a 12-voice polyphonic carrier synth with multiple waveforms and selectable octave. Notably, it has a Freeze function that can be DAW-synced to clock division, or controlled via MIDI. Variable bands (4, 8, 12, 16, 20) also offer vintage and modern vocoding effects.

Next, there's the AMS Neve DFC Channel Strip plug-in ($299) which offers the same EQ, filtering, compressor, limiter, expander, gate and dynamic EQ found in the the leading post-production console, as used in Skywalker Sound and Warner Bros. facilities

Developed by Brainworx and endorsed by John Suhr, the Suhr SE100 Amplifier plug-in captures the original amplifiers tonal array, expertly emulating its custom plexi-style transformers and EL34-powered output section. It also uses UA's Unison preamp tech to match the physical input impedance and gain staging to better match the tone of the physical amp.

Finally, there's the Brainworx bx_masterdesk Classic Plug-In ($99), a simplified version of the bx_masterdesk which is being billed as offering powerful, easy-to-use controls for a self-contained mastering environment so you can effortlessly produce high-level masters.
