Ian Holloway joins Sky Sports for biggest ever Football League season

Ian Holloway has joined Sky Sports ahead of its biggest ever season of Football League.

From next week, Holloway will bring his managerial and playing experiences from his 35-year football career into the Sky Sports studio where he will work as an analyst on coverage of all three Sky Bet Football League divisions.

As a manager, Holloway achieved promotion with three clubs including guiding both Blackpool and Crystal Palace to the Premier League via the Championship playoffs. Before that, he enjoyed an 18-year playing career with six clubs in all top four divisions of English football.

Holloway will make his debut in the Sky Sports studio for the first live match of the season - Brighton and Hove Albion v Nottingham Forest on Friday 7 August. Sky Sports will show 127 exclusively live fixtures from the Sky Bet Football League this season thanks to the start of a brand new five-year broadcasting partnership.

Ian Holloway joins Don Goodman, Peter Beagrie and Andy Hinchcliffe as he becomes a Sky Sports Football League analyst, with coverage hosted by Simon Thomas. As well as more games than ever before, Sky Sports will be taking fans closer to the game with increased matchday coverage and more player interviews than ever before.

To celebrate the start of the football season, on 4 August Sky Sports News will visit all 92 football clubs as part of 92Live, bringing viewers interviews and news from every team in English football in one marathon day of coverage.

Starting next week, the football season on Sky Sports includes 116 matches from the Premier League, 127 Sky Bet Football League matches, 30 fixtures from the SPFL, the Capital One Cup and Scottish Cup, the climax to UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying and much more.
