Canal del F tbol (CDF), the owner of the Chilean league rights, is using Elemental Live video processing systems for its Estadio CDF subscription video on demand (SVOD) online streaming platform. The deployment is supported by Elemental partner Mediastream in Latin America.
Launched in late 2012, Estadio CDF does not require viewers to subscribe to a pay TV service but rather pay a monthly fee to access content. Subscribers are able to watch live football matches from Chile's Soccer League via the Internet with connected TV sets, PCs, Smart TVs, Macs or tablets. CDF plans to use the channel to promote content such as the Campeonato Nacional de Futbol Profesional Petrobras and Copa de Chile matches to viewers in Chile and all over the world, particularly Chileans living outside of the country.
Elemental systems allow CDF to create video streams of sports programming in real time and to ensure optimal image quality on a variety of devices. In its selection of Elemental, CDF cited the systems' flexibility, powerful video processing and high-quality video output.

CDF has pioneered a truly remarkable multiscreen sports broadcast service with its CDF Estadio SVOD online streaming platform, said Dan Marshall, SVP of worldwide sales and service for Elemental. We are pleased to partner with Mediastream to offer CDF a solution that reduces costs, saves power and improves video quality.
We chose Elemental for its capacity to deliver very high quality processing and encoding of live video and for its flexibility, which allowed a smooth integration with our CDN and OVP platform, said Luis Ahumada, CEO of Mediastream. The same use case for OTT will be utilized very soon with content partners in Brazil and Colombia.
Elemental will be featured at the NexTV Summit Brasil October 21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and CAPER 2013 October 23-25 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Meetings with an Elemental representative at either show can be scheduled here.
