Devil's Peak, a new M-Net series adapted from Deon Meyer's 2004 best-selling novel of the same name, has begun filming in Cape Town. The crime-thriller series stars well-known South African actors as well as rising stars in the entertainment industry. The series is set to premiere in 2023.

DEVIL'S PEAK' Devil's Peak follows Detective Benny Griessel (played by Hilton Pelser) who is tasked with tracking down a vigilante killer who has terrorised the city. Thobela Mpayipheli (played by Sisanda Henna) plays a grieving father who is desperately seeking justice after his son was murdered.
Benny and Thobela's paths cross with Christine (played by Tarryn Wyngaard), a mother who is willing to do anything for a better life for her and her daughter.

All three character's stories will build throughout the series to an explosive climax. The series is a South African take on an investigative thriller.
AN AUTHENTIC SOUTH AFRICAN SERIES The series is set to be directed by Jozua Malherbe, who has worked on projects like Griekwastad, Lioness and Netflix's Justice Served. Shamilla Miller will play Benny Grissel's wife, Anna and Masasa Mbangeni will play Mbali Kaleni, Benny's detective colleague.

WHO ELSE WILL BE WORKING ON DEVIL'S PEAK'? The upcoming thriller series has been written and adapted for television by Matthew Orton and Amy Jephta. BBC Studios, who own Lookout Point, will distribute Devil's Peak internationally.
Matthew Orton has created an exhilarating propulsive, contemporary adaptation of Deon Meyer's work, alongside Amy Jepta, one of South Africa's foremost screen talents.
