Britain's leading food TV channel in Pay, Good Food, has announced that it will be co-producing a new series with RTE, to be made by Sweet TV and presented by the popular Irish cook, Rachel Allen, which will combine a passion for food and a need for thrift.
Rachel Allen's Everyday Kitchen (13 x 30 ), has been ordered by Good Food's General Manager, Clare Laycock, and will be Executive Produced by UKTV's Nicki McDermott and RTE's Brian Walsh.
Rachel Allen is already familiar to Good Food viewers, having presented previous UKTV commissions including Rachel Allen: Bake!, Rachel Allen: Home Cooking and co-productions Rachel Allen's Cake Diaries, Rachel Allen's Dinner Parties and Rachel Allen's Easy Meals.
Rachel Allen's Everyday Kitchen is a collection of delicious, mouth-watering meals prepared with thrift, health and a little kitchen cunning in mind. Designed to help viewers get the most out of their lives, shopping budget and ingredients, each recipe will demonstrate how to make money and food go further.
Dishes include a family meal of roast chicken on Sunday; using the left over potatoes for a hearty Tartiflette on Monday night; any remains of the cooked bird as the basis for a contemporary twist on a chasseur for lunch on Wednesday; and a delicious soup made with stock from the same carcass for a family day out on Saturday.
Good Food's General Manager, Clare Laycock says, I'm so pleased to have Rachel back on Good Food for what will be the tenth series. Rachel's warm, intimate and relaxed style combined with her simple but delicious recipes always appeal to our viewers.

Head of Content at Sweet TV, David Nottage says, This is the third series that we have brought to UKTV for Good Food and we're thrilled the channel is co-producing Everyday Kitchen with RTE. Rachel is Ireland's favourite home cook and we're looking forward to filming her both cooking and as she goes about her daily life, to provide viewers with a unique insight into her world.
Each episode of Rachel Allen's Everyday Kitchen will showcase a mix of three sweet and savoury recipes, and will be packed full of thrifty, yet tasty hints and tips. All of the dishes will loosely work together, either linked by a key ingredient, or built around a specific event such as a family gathering.
The series will also provide a unique insight into her life through the combination of observational documentary segments and set-piece cooking. Rachel will be filmed throughout different days in her life, whether it is time spent with her family or flying to London to meet her book publishers.
Each of the recipes featured in the series will be available on goodfoodchannel.co.uk, to complement the growing database of more than 17,000 recipes already available.
