Michael Day takes the helm at Tolka as CEO

Tolka announces a new addition to its management team with the appointment of Michael Day as chief executive officer, effective from May 1st 2021. His role will include spearheading the companys expansion as a globally active producer of equipment, software and services for the broadcast telecommunications market.

An excellent example is CastMark, a highly secure cloud-based watermarking implementation which allows broadcasters to protect their content from unauthorized infringement of copyright and consequent loss of revenue. CastMark watermarking is invisibly inserted into the playout transport stream. Each subscribers viewing device is assigned a unique signature. If pirate content is detected, the signature of the set-top box or mobile platform is automatically reported.

A telecommunications industry veteran with over 30 years of experience in broadcast technology and business management, Michael Day has worked closely with Tolka since its formation in 2015. As CEO, he will supervise corporate, commercial and technical activity at Tolkas Atlanta headquarters and research facility in Taiwan. His appointment follows on from the recent introduction of TV AnyWhere, a complete and easy to manage solution which allows cable, satellite and digital terrestrial TV services to provide full support for revenue-generating personalized advertising without needing a return feed. The Tolka Conditional Access System, TCAS, is integrated to ensure secure delivery.
