06 NAB: Digital Nirvana Introduces MonitorIQ5.0, with Improved User Interface And Support For Global Content Feeds

Fremont, CA, April 6, 2016 - At NAB 2016, Digital Nirvana, will feature the latest generation of its acclaimed MonitorIQ media management platform (MMP), during the annual NAB convention, April 16-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Digital Nirvana will exhibit in Booth #SU10410.

The MonitorIQ platform delivers a full range of multi-channel signal monitoring, logging, compliance and archiving functions and is fully customizable. With it, broadcasters can capture live content from multiple sources live and monitor the video for quality and compliance. Video can also be published to digital platforms for on-demand consumption. It combines signal and loudness monitoring, air-check logging, ad verification, competitive analysis and content repurposing. It features a powerful content retrieval system called SmartSearch and operates in a centralized management server environment- which unites all units deployed throughout the system to one central point.

This enhanced version of MonitorIQ includes a new, easy-to-use interface for quicker content search and retrieval and it marks the transition away from Flash to HTML5 and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS). With HTML5 and HLS support users can browse and view content seamlessly across multiple platforms including all standard desktop browsers and mobile device operating systems.

MonitorIQ 5.0 also allows cloud-based recording and OTT stream monitoring, and includes a VOD Server to view content on any connected Smart TV device. Digital Nirvana will showcase examples of streamed video-on-demand content on a Smart TV within its NAB booth.

Also notable for MonitorIQ 5.0, the platform will now incorporate the ability to record from Matrox's Monarch HDX streaming appliance. Broadcasters are always looking for capabilities that can differentiate them in the marketplace, said Hindocha. This new functionality provides confidence monitoring, from their studio location, of multiple feeds from other countries. This can be critical if, for instance, a client has a temporary event in a foreign location. The single, web-based interface provides centralized access to these geographically diverse streams in a very cost-effective way.

The Digital Nirvana platform provides a convenient interface to access, view, analyze, export, re purpose and share content recorded with a Monarch HDX streaming appliance. The combined solution is ideal for professional video producers looking to record or stream events with minimal setup but without expensive recording units, such as universities, hospitals, government organizations, houses of worship and local broadcasters.

Like previous generations of the MonitorIQ platform, Version 5.0 allows the ability to: record SD and HD in full resolution, SD/HD, ASI, ASI-IP, ATSC, QAM , DVB - T/C/S2; record multi-language audio/video, VANC metadata, and CC/teletext/subtitles; compatibility with all standards-compliant web browsers; cut/clip and editing functionality for quality control, viewing, content repurposing and ad verification; and the ability to export media to MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264 and XDCAM.
