Encoding.com Partners with FreeWheel to Enable Entertainment Companies to Deliver and Monetize Video May 23, 2013
SAN FRANCISCO, May 23, 2013 -- Encoding.com, the worlds largest video encoding service, and provider ofVid.ly, the universal video URL platform, announced that it is working with FreeWheel, the video technology company that manages the economics of content for the enterprise-class world of entertainment, to enable publishers and broadcasters to monetize and deliver online video to the growing number of mobile devices, HTML5 browsers and OTT video platforms in the market.
The collaboration between Encoding.com and FreeWheel addresses the complexity of distribution and monetization of video to every device and browser currently utilized by consumers. Encoding.coms Vid.ly service is a highly scalable, cloud-based platform that seamlessly combines storage, transcoding, video player technology, consumer device detection, streaming and analytics to deliver an optimized end-user experience all via a single URL.
Encoding.coms integration of Vid.ly with the FreeWheel ad serving and management platform empowers professional video content publishers to deliver targeted video advertisements via their existing FreeWheel accounts through the Vid.ly HTML5 and Flash video players. Together, Encoding.com and FreeWheel provide an ideal solution for entertainment brands to expand their audience by delivering high-value, revenue-generating video content to consumers on-the-go or at home.

FreeWheel customers who utilize Vid.ly can configure campaigns via Encoding.coms User Interface or API. When an end user views a Vid.ly URL with FreeWheel enabled, Vid.ly will pass the user information to the FreeWheel ad server and the consumer will receive a targeted advertisement in return (pre/mid/post roll and banner overlays supported).
