Estos d as diversas localizaciones emblem ticas de Cantabria se han convertido en el escenario natural del primer largometraje dedicado a uno de los golfistas m s laureados de todos los tiempos, el desaparecido Severiano Ballesteros.
El club Real Golf de Pedre a, su ciudad natal, ha sido el lugar escogido para llevar a cabo la presentaci n a los medios de Seve, la pel cula que mostrar los inicios, la lucha personal y el ascenso de un ni o de or genes humildes hasta la cumbre mundial de este deporte. El encargado de emular al ganador en dos ocasiones del Masters de Augusta entre otros muchos t tulos, ser el joven Jos Luis Guti rrez, que a sus 15 a os tambi n lucha y entrena duro por la que es su gran pasi n, el golf.
Ballesteros es por m ritos propios una leyenda del golf mundial. Fallecido en 2011 a causa de un tumor cerebral, consigui alzarse con m s de 90 t tulos entre los que destacan dos Masters de Augusta, tres British Open y cinco Ryder Cup, adem s de una copa m s como capit n y el Premio Pr ncipe de Asturias de los Deportes en 1989, entre muchos otros t tulos y reconocimientos.
Jos Luis Guti rrez, a punto de cumplir 16 a os, ya se ha ganado un espacio entre las promesas del mundo del golf de nuestro pa s. Este joven c ntabro, integrante de la selecci n de su tierra en el Campeonato de Espa a Interterritorial con la que obtuvo el segundo lugar el pasado septiembre en Salamanca, se ha alzado con varios trofeos dentro de su categor a. Se inici en este deporte con tan solo 6 a os y ya ha logrado un swing que recuerda al del maestro de Pedre a; si dijese que no, qu clase de actor ser a interpretando a Seve , bromea Guti rrez.

El largometraje, cuyo estreno internacional est previsto para abril de 2014, se est rodando en lugares tan importantes en la vida de este mito del deporte espa ol como Santander, Comillas o Pedre a. Un equipo formado por 34 actores y 365 figurantes dirigidos por John Paul Dadivson, realizador brit nico especializado en documentales con una filmograf a en la que destacan obras para la BBC junto a Michael Palin (exmiembro de los Monty Python). Trabajos reconocidos con m ltiples galardones como un BAFTA TV a la mejor fotograf a para su Sahara with Michael Palin. Dadivson tambi n ha trabajado con otros actores/c micos conocidos internacionalmente como Hugh Laurie o Sthephen Fry. Est siendo una experiencia realmente interesante y he comprendido el amor que sent a Seve por su tierra declara Dadivson que mezcla el documental y la ficci n en un trabajo con el que conoceremos a Seve .
Escrita por Tom Hodgson y producida por Reinassance Films y Fishcorb Films en colaboraci n con Palamont Pictures, Seve es una coproducci n entre Espa a e Inglaterra que cuenta con un equipo de primer nivel del que sobresalen entre otros nombres: Stephen Warbeck, compositor de bandas sonoras tan recordadas como Shakespeare in love , por la que fue galardonado con un Oscar, o Billy Eliot y Tariq Anwar, montador doblemente nominado a los Oscar por American Beauty and The Kings Speech.
Rodada ntegramente en espa ol para mantener la autenticidad del proyecto, adem s de Jos Luis interpretando a un joven Severiano Ballesteros, el largometraje cuenta con otros nombres como Quim vila (Vicente), Maria Molins (Carmen), Jos Navar (Baldomero), Alvar Gordejuela (Baldomero Jr.), Adri n Salzedo (Manuel) y Nil Cardoner (Rafa).
