The 2023 GoPro Mountain Games Are Taking Over Vail This Weekend

June is here and summer is in the air in Vail, Colo., and that can only mean one thing-the 2023 GoPro Mountain Games are upon us! We're back and taking over Vail Village to celebrate the annual GoPro Mountain Games outdoor festival June 7 to 11.

From dog-friendly trail runs to kid-centric mud runs, dual slalom downhill biking to steep-and-deep kayaking, and concerts to creative expos s at the all-new CoLab stage, GoPro Mountain Games takes all the best mountain town activities and turns them into a the biggest summer kickoff festival this side of the Mississippi. It's also the only time of year that Average Joes (and Jolinas) and compete alongside seasoned pros across a multitude of mountain disciplines.

This marks the 21st year that the Vail Valley Foundation has hosted this event, and we might be biased, but it's certain to be the best one yet! After a heavy snow season, water levels are indicating that the river will be challenging to navigate, and current weather forecasts say Mother Nature might show up to add a few more elements to the events. If you're coming out as a spectator or planning to cruise Gear Town, be sure to layer up!
