Vizrt introduces new sports enhancement and interactive solutions at NAB 05

The solutions are built upon Viz Arena, Viz Libero, and Viz Engine. See them at the Vizrt booth (SL2417) at NAB 2015.

Vizrt, the leading provider of sports production systems for the digital media industry, will introduce a number of new solutions and features for its sports portfolio. The solutions are built upon the live sports enhancements system, Viz Arena, the sports analysis system, Viz Libero, and the real-time video and graphics compositing engine, Viz Engine. See them at the Vizrt booth (SL2417) at NAB 2015.

Viz Arena

Viz Arena will showcase new features and integrated solutions:

Live virtual graphics solution

Co-developed with sports media services company deltatre, this integration between Viz Arena and deltatre's Magma sports TV graphics platform brings unprecedented live virtual graphics possibilities. Football rights holders can now quickly incorporate live player tracking graphics and statistics data into the broadcast. The solution's data analysis system automatically suggests relevant stories or events during the live game.

Internal disk recorder

Replay effects, such as offside lines or telestration, can now be performed using an internal disk recorder, eliminating the need for third-party video servers. The one-channel disk recorder permanently buffers the incoming video input and creates wipe effects when transitioning from live to instant replay.

Multi-regional virtual advertising

To enhance the monetization possibilities of Viz Arena's virtual ads solution, multiple advertising outputs can be generated from the same input feed. Viz Arena controls multiple Viz Engines simultaneously, rendering customized virtual ads for each market.

Other new Viz Arena enhancements include the Telestrator and a one-box solution. Telestrator comes with new tools such as magnifier, freehand lines and arrows. The Viz Arena one-box solution will be used at NAB 2015, highlighting all live enhancement possibilities for sports such as football, basketball, soccer, and tennis.

Viz Libero

Viz Libero will showcase a new integration with Viz Engine:

Live Viz Engine graphics

Custom branding becomes an integral part of Viz Libero using the seamless integration with Viz Engine. All Viz Libero tools and animations can be customized using Viz Artist, Vizrt's modeling and animation tool. The live workflow allows for minimal delay in editing and playout of the analysis clips.

Evertz DreamCatcher integration

Viz Libero will be integrated with DreamCatcher, Evertz' highly scalable IP-based replay system. Viz Libero can directly control the DreamCatcher server, switch cameras and access different game plays, to create analysis clips without the need for any DreamCatcher control unit or separate operator. Final analysis clips are either played out directly or sent back to the DreamCatcher clip library for access by the producer or highlights program manager.

Automatic Player Tracking

Viz Libero 6.0 introduced automatic player tracking to sports analysis. The feature can automatically track players on the pitch and accurately show their movement without the need for special cameras installed at the stadium. This new function removes the need for keyframing players in post, meaning the player-attached graphic is ready to use within seconds.

Interactive showcasesRio 2016 games with deltatre

Vizrt is working with sports media services company deltatre to deliver an end-to-end solution for producing rich data-integrated broadcast graphics for the Rio 2016. The new package is designed for broadcasters carrying live sporting action from Rio 2016 games. It incorporates competition and athlete data from the Olympic Data Feed (ODF).

Live interactive soccer analysis with Reality Check's Launchpad

Reality Check Systems' (RCS) interactive touchscreen solution LaunchPad simplifies advanced soccer analysis for live broadcasts to empower storytelling and boost fan engagement. LaunchPad features live match data supplied by Opta, social media integration, as well as real-time predictive analysis.

Both interactive solutions are integrated with the Viz Libero 3D sports analysis software to allow presenters to interactively analyze game plays using a touchscreen and tied-to-field graphics tools.
