RUE Beltelecom organized corporate Blood Donor Day 13.10.2014

RUE Beltelecom promotes a healthy lifestyle, social responsibility, constructs and maintains corporate culture that enables employees to check the state of their health on a regular basis. Due to this approach, it has become a tradition for the company to organize corporate Donor Days.

On October 10 the employees of RUE Beltelecom took part in one more Donor Day. The event was organized with the participation of the Transfusion city center of the 6th Municipal Clinical Hospital. An on-site blood transfusion station was deployed in the territory of RUE Beltelecom where every employee can voluntarily take part in a corporate Donor promotional event.

Volunteers had even to stand in a queue, as there were a lot of such enthusiasts. This day about 80 people responded to the call of the event organizers to come to the donor center.

At the very beginning of the working day the management of the company with the participation of an on-side team of specialists made all the necessary preparations to organize corporate Donor promotional event. Registration donor area, the area of the employees inspection by the therapist, express laboratory, tea-drinking spot were equipped, blood sampling and recreation spots as well as spots for drawing up the necessary documents and certificates were also well-organized.

The event was attended by both the experts and heads of structural subdivisions of RUE Beltelecom. After donating employees were leaving the blood transfusion station with a feeling that their human duty had been done and a moral satisfaction from the fact that we were able to participate in the act of kindness and save someones life. Donated blood saves millions of children and adults, because there are situations when there is no alternative to using the blood components and products. According to the World Health Organization, every third person in the world at least once in his life needs the help of donors. None of us is immune from an injury, illness, when the only chance to survive is to undergo a blood transfusion.

Corporate Donor Day in RUE Beltelecom is not a single action, but a part of the companys values. This is an important area of work aimed at engaging the public into a noble movement of voluntary blood donation and its constituent parts on a regular basic.

Doctors call blood donation the supreme act of mercy and say that when life in the operating room hangs by a single thread, much is solved by the invisible presence of a person, who donated his blood, but whose name will remain unknown to the patient.
