KCET ADDS NEW PROGRAMS TO CHILDRENS SCHEDULE AND DEDICATES ALL NEW 24/7 CHANNEL TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

The Jim Henson Company and Sid & Marty Krofft Join KCET Line-Up

Los Angeles - January 19, 2011 - KCET continues its longtime commitment to quality childrens programming with the launch of a new childrens schedule, which premiered Saturday, January 1. In addition KCET, now the largest independent public television station in the country, launched KCET Kids & Family Channel, a new 24/7 digital multicast channel dedicated to serving young viewers, their families and caregivers with a distinctive mix of quality programming in English and Spanish.

KCET has a stellar reputation as a provider of quality content for children and their parents and caregivers, says Joyce Campbell, KCET Vice President, Education and Childrens Programming. We are delighted with the new programs we have for broadcast on KCET in the new year, as well as a whole new channel of programming for kids and families which allows us to provide viewers with quality content in English and Spanish designed to encourage learning and discovery together.

MORNING CHILDRENS BLOCK ON KCET

The KCET childrens block airs Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and on weekends from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and provides an entertaining and informative alternative to network programming for children. Joining the KCET line-up are productions from The Jim Henson Company, Sid & Marty Krofft, Cookie Jar Entertainment and more.
