Lesley Goldman Joins truTV as Vice President of Development & Original Programming-

Lesley Goldman has been named vice president of development & original programming for truTV. She joins the network after serving as vice president of primetime alternative for CNBC. In her role at truTV, Goldman will be responsible for executing the development of new programming, from concept to series, with creative oversight of pilots, series and specials. She will also assist in developing and implementing truTVs content strategy. Goldman is based in New York and reports to Marissa Ronca, senior vice president of development & original programming for truTV.

Lesley comes to truTV with a wealth of experience in unscripted and alternative programming, said Ronca. She is a creative, forward-thinking producer with a great eye for programming and strong relationships throughout the industry. Lesley is a great addition to our team as we continue to shape truTVs programming vision.

Prior to her position at CNBC, Goldman served as senior development consultant for MTVs East Coast series development team from 2011 until last year. Simultaneously, she produced The New Public, a feature-length documentary about the opening of a new public high school in Brooklyn. The documentary aired as part of the America Reframed series on the PBS-supported WORLD Channel in September 2013. It then went on to win the Best Doc award at the Reel Independent Film Extravaganza Film Festival in Washington, D.C.

From 2006 to 2011, Goldman worked for Picture This Television, serving as vice president of development from 2008. Prior to that, she worked for six years in MTVs news and documentaries division producing one-off documentaries and specials, including Def Jam Uncensored and No Hit Wonders. She also produced many pro-social documentaries, winning the Best Documentary prize at the Cable Positive Awards for MTV News Now: Sex, School and Scandal. During Goldmans tenure at MTV, she also created and executive-produced three seasons of the series High School Stories.

As a freelance producer and associate producer during the late 90s, Goldman worked on such programming as the World AIDS Day Special for Oxygen, Nickelodeons The Creative Lab, and PBSs Emmy -winning Newtons Apple. From 1996-1997, Goldman served as show producer on UPNs national morning talk show, Everyday Living. She started her career in local news at WITI-TV in Milwaukee.

Goldman earned a bachelors degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
