Brightcove Powers Livestream For Badminton Horse Trials
The world-famous equestrian event will use Brightcove technology to power Badminton TVBOSTON - May 2, 2023 - Brightcove Inc. (NASDAQ: BCOV), the world's most trusted streaming technology company, today announced it is the official provider of Badminton TV, a subscription-based internet TV channel that will livestream this year's Badminton Horse Trials, taking place 4-8 May.
The internationally-recognised Badminton Horse Trials is one of the most prestigious and challenging events in the equestrian world. Over four days, riders compete in three separate disciplines: dressage, cross country, and show jumping.
The 2022 livestream attracted almost 75,000 viewers, demonstrating the demand for online, real-time event coverage. This year, Badminton Horse Trials has selected Brightcove as its streaming provider to deliver a fully-owned experience for loyal fans across the globe.

Subscribers to Badminton TV can access exclusive TV and video coverage from the competition for up to 12 months. This includes the livestream during the event, and previous events hosted in the Badminton TV online service, as well as the course preview programme and the organisers' visit to the yard of one of the key competitors heading to the 2023 event.

Badminton, which is a 5-star international event (the highest level, CCI5*), was founded in 1949 and takes place on The Duke of Beaufort's estate in Gloucestershire. It is one of only seven 5-star events (the highest level) in the world. The winner last year was Laura Collett MBE, a member of the Britains Olympic gold medal team at Tokyo.
