Los Angeles - January 14, 2011 - Kicking off the new year with special event programming, KCET, independent public media for Southern and Central California, will air two presidential documentaries from producer-writer-director Robert Kline beginning with The Kennedys: Americas Emerald Kings on Tuesday, January 18 from 9:00-11:00 PM, followed by Ronald Reagan: An American Journey on Tuesday, January 25 from 9:00-11:00 PM.

Marking the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedys Presidential inauguration, Robert Klines The Kennedys: Americas Emerald Kings features narrative from members of the Kennedy family, including Senator Edward Kennedy, Jean Kennedy Smith, Caroline Kennedy, Eunice

Shriver Kennedy and former First Lady of California Maria Shriver, as well as political leaders such as former President Bill Clinton, late President Gerald R. Ford and Congressman John Lewis.

This is the most complete documentary ever to trace the unique Kennedy saga through in-depth examination of five generations of Kennedy and Fitzgerald families, said Kline.

From enduring poverty and prejudice in Ireland, to John F. Kennedys tenure in the White House as the first Catholic president in U.S. history, this is the story of the triumphs and tragedies of Americas most famous immigrant family. It is a story that has gripped America for decades. The film was created in cooperation with the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library.

In honor of the 30th anniversary of Ronald Reagans Presidential inauguration, KCET presents the broadcast premiere of Ronald Reagan: An American Journey, a film in Reagans own words taken from the U.S. Presidents debates, speeches and discussions. The Reagan Era

was marked with events that made history and became the fabric of American life and memory: Iran-Contra; the Cold War; the Solidarity Movement and the candle in the White House window; Pan Am 103; the Challenger disaster; Beirut; and Libya. The film was created in cooperation with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

Robert Kline is an award-winning filmmaker, a former executive vice president of 20th Century Fox and co-founder of the Lifetime Network. His series First Works begins airing on KCET on Sunday, January 23, at 8:00 p.m.
