The Independent Mzansi Short Film Festival (IMSFF), which ran from 25 to 29 June at the Maxi Cine Complex at Hatfield Plaza in Pretoria, has announced a number of winning short films. Winners were celebrated on 29 June at the Mzansi Awards Ceremony.

2014 IMSFF Winners:

Best Student Short Film: Ana, Patrick and Nicolas

Best Animated Short Film: Wing It!

Best Short Film: Ibhokhwe (The Goat)

Best Director of a Short Film: John Trengove for Ibhokhwe (The Goat)

Best Original Screenplay: Mark Middlewick for Security

Best Actor in a Short Film: Mdudzi Mabaso for Security

Best Actress in a Short Film: Sylvia Ncediwe Mdunyelwa for Freedom Road

Best Use of Music : Quinn Lubbe for Prinses

Best Cinematography: Brendan Barnes for Security

Best Editing of a Short Film: Alexa Skordi for Ana, Patrick and Nicolas

Best Sound Editing and Mixing:Jozua Loots for Die Lang Kat

Best Production Design: Chantre Crafford for Wegkruipertjie

Best Makeup and Hairstyling: Liezel Zene Oberholzer for Prinses

Mzansi Magic Choice Award: Berea

People s Choice Award: Security
