BREAKING NEWS: BMG Chrysalis US Acquires Rights to Music from Khumba

BMG has acquired 100% of the music publishing, master sound recordings, and soundtrack album rights in and to the original score and music of Khumba. Khumba is a 3D computer-animated adventure comedy featuring a star-studded cast including Lawrence Fishburne and Liam Neeson. It is also the first South African Animation to be released in both English and Afrikaans and is funded by the NFVF. The film opened at #1 at the box office in South Africa last year and continues to roll out in the rest of the world.

The purchase of the Khumba master recordings further adds to BMG's recorded catalogue and follows the acquisitions of Sanctuary and Mute, highlighting the company's intentions to expand this line of business.

The composer, Bruce Retief, did a fantastic job of creating an authentic and original soundtrack for Khumba and we're immensely pleased that BMG will be helping his music reach a wider audience says Khumba producer Stuart Forrest.
