Jiangbei to develop tourist brand

It is learned from Jiangbei District Tourism Bureau that in the first four months of 2016 Jiangbei District received 2.632 million visitors, up by 10.14% over the same period of last year, and the leisure tourism is becoming a bright spot of the district.

The all-round improvement and reform of the four AAAA tourist spots has become an important focus of the tourism development of the district. In the process of improvement, some infrastructure facilities will be added or improved at the Greenfield Mountain Villa, including the visitor center and the parking lot. At the Old Bund area, some new smart tourist equipment, such as the tourist statistics probe, has been installed, and the extending section of the area has started to attract business on an overall basis. The other two AAAA tourist spots, the Cicheng Ancient Town and Baoguo Temple area, will cooperate to build the state-level AAAAA tourist spot, and the planning has been completed so far.

As most of the villages of the district are near the central urban area and are rich in ecological and farm tour resources, Jiangbei District has accelerated its development of the farm tours. In addition to the 20 million yuan invested in the overall improvement, Anshan Village entrusted a design agency to design the landscape improvement project this year, and conducted the color block agricultural landscape construction to integrate it with the Sunhu Lake flower block. The integration of such tourist products as the walking trail of the North Mountain, the Sunhu Lake Flower Block, the Baxia Park of the Sunhu Town, the urban agricultural park, and Anshan Village area has become a highlight of the rural tourism in Jiangbei District. In the Cicheng Town area, Maodai Village will be built as a health and leisure base with the completion of such public service facilities as the tourist center, the parking lot, the public toilets for tourists, and the tourist sign system.

To meet the demands of the mass tourism era, the district has started the "high-speed railroad promotion" activity. To attract the tourists from East China and the Yangzte River Delta area, four quality tourist routes have been launched, including the cultural route of Cicheng Ancient Town and Baoguo Temple, the fashion and leisure route of the Old Bund, the sports and fitness route of Anshan Village, Maodai Village, and the Greenfield Mountain Villa, and the ancient civilization route of Banpu Park. In January this year, the district organized the tourist resorts, hotels and travel agencies to promote their products in Jinhua, Quzhou, Lishui and Wenzhou. From March to May, the district launched the special health routes and conducted promotion in Hangzhou, Huzhou and Shanghai. By taking advantage of Ningbos status of being the "cultural capital of East Asia", the district has extended its market to Japan and South Korea. On April 20, 180 tourists from South Korea visited the Cicheng Ancient Town. From May 24 to 28, 500 tourists from Tianjin came to Ningbo by high-speed railway and visited the major scenic spots of Cicheng Ancient Town.

In addition, to strengthen the marketing of the rural tourism, the district has organized such festival activities as the opening ceremony of the urban leisure tourism, the mountain marathon race, and the blueberry picking-up festival. Among others, the mountain marathon race has attracted about 10,000 visitors to the walking trail of the North Mountain.
