Globos telenovela Boogie Oogie will bring the disco era to the 06 Natpe

Get your living room ready! Disco's back. We are in 1978 and a new concept of freedom is celebrated to the sound of disco music. In the disco era, life is a party and the vibe is contagious. In Boogie Oogie,' which Globo introduces to the international market in Miami, this effervescence comes back in a classic telenovela that is full of love.

In the plot, directed by Ricardo Waddington ( Precious Pearl' and Brazil Avenue'), a tragic plane crash causes the encounter between two young women from opposing classes on one side, humble, hard-working Sandra ( sis Valverde, Brazil Avenue'), and the other, rich and spoiled Vit ria (Bianca Bin, Precious Pearl'). The two will compete for the love of the same man, Rafael (Marco Pigossi, Gabriela'). What they don't know is that their fates were intertwined long ago, when they were switched at birth. A secret that promises to change the lives of everyone involved in this great story of love and revenge with a striking soundtrack from the 1970's.

In Brazil, the telenovela wowed the audience, which surrendered to glitter and disco music, reaching a 43% share and conquering more than 17 million viewers (source: Ibope). On its last chapter, four terms related to Boogie Oogie' entered the Trending Topics of a microblog in Brazil.

Recreating the disco era required in-depth research on set design and art production. The teams based at Globo, in Rio de Janeiro, were dedicated to recreating the relaxed, exciting atmosphere of 1978. The telenovela's costumes depict the transition from a hippie style, very characteristic of the early decade, to the exaggeration of the 1980's. Turtlenecks and patterns, highlights in the 1970's, blend with leggings, shoulder pads, and t-shirts, which give a glimpse into the 1980's and make up the set of pieces that were hits in the streets that year. The audience is immediately immersed in a festive mood, with its glitter, sequins, and rhinestones.

Boogie Oogie' also has an ensemble cast known worldwide: Deborah Secco ( Irrational Heart'), Giulia Gam ( Fight or Love?'), Marco Ricca ( The Illusionist'), Alessandra Negrini ( Side by Side'), Helo sa Periss ( Brazil Avenue'), Let cia Spiller ( Precious Pearl'), Francisco Cuoco ( Sweet Mother' e Trail of Lies').

Boogie Oogie' has 90 one-hour episodes.

Natpe 2016

Globo will be located in the Tr sor Tower, suite 2601, during Natpe, which will be held from January 19th until 22st. The Brazilian company that produce, distribute and exhibit multigenre content around the world to many platforms, will offer its traditional Screening Breakfast on the morning of the 19th (from 8:00 to 10:00 AM, in the Versailles Tower, at the Glimmer Ballroom), where it will launch its new catalog of unreleased titles.
