Itak generation setting off on an unforgettable summer road trip Ljubljana, 8 August 2013 - In line with its new motto Your Time, Your Rules! Itak will help the first Itak crew start their road trip with the unique vintage Itak VAN on 12 August. The crew selected their own itinerary. We received over 400 proposals for a dream trip and selected four crews of young people, who will travel around Europe.

After five weeks of work, in which the Itak VAN was completely refurbished with the help of Itak mechanics and recommendations provided by Itak generation members through ven.itak.si, the van is ready and so is the first team. In four days, a team of five guys will embark on an unforgettable adventure. They are planning to visit Switzerland and then go south through Provence to Corsica, and from there to Tuscany and back to Slovenia, where they will return after 14 adventure-packed days. You will be able to follow their trip on ven.itak.si and at Itak Plejs. After their return, three more crews will embark on their trips with the Itak Van, which will be on the road all until the beginning of October. The crews earned their trips by giving the best descriptions of planned trips in the competition of 286 crews, and over 400 different itineraries.

Telekom Slovenije has always provided more than just telecommunication services to young people with its Itak brand. Itak communication strategy also includes issues that the Itak generation finds important. This year's campaign is in line with the motto Your Time, Your Rules! which wants to tell the young people that the responsibility for their future lies in their hands, and to encourage them to act constructively, said Simon Furlan, director Telekom Slovenije's Marketing Department. We are aware that the lifestyle of the Itak generation is not just about fun and traveling, but also the desire to gain new knowledge and experience, which is why we created the Itak VAN project so that it includes both fun and gaining some valuable experience. We will send 20 young people on trips of their choice, while seven young people will get summer jobs that will provide them with valuable experience and allow them to experience working as a mechanic or a photo journalist, head of Marketing Communications Office Niko Ku ar said about the Itak VAN project.

Itak VAN underwent a complete renovation in July, shedding its image of a run-down van. The exterior and the interior have been completely redesigned, the engine was rebuilt, and the van was furnished with numerous trendy features that will attract attention, wherever Itak crews take it. Since the van is an old-timer, its driving characteristics, however excellent, still differ from those of modern cars. For this reason all crew members will first take the van on a test drive under close supervision of the mechanics who refurbished it.
