Studio Automation hot topic for news & current affairs productions VidiGo experiences rapid growth in software platforms for live news and current affairs productions.
Amsterdam, March 23, 2015 - Live news and current affairs productions find themselves more and more under pressure. News has always been a costly production and now changing viewing habits increase the pressure on costs even more in the coming years. Nevertheless, news is still regarded as the eye-catching and important identity for any TV channel. To bridge the inevitable gap between costs and quality, TV stations have to take a leap in new ways of production.
VidiGo foresees a landslide in the way news is being produced. Options for cutting costs come to an end when news producers do not change their traditional workflow. The International Association of Broadcast Manufacturers (IABM) already mentioned in their market research that Automation of production is a top-3 investment decision of TV stations. VidiGo foresees that automation alone will not be enough.
Like we have seen with editing, the transition from analogue to digital or digitalization of the workflow in radio, the industry really has to start thinking out of the box. It is all about a real process of democratization of production, that means: give the creative staff the tools they need to produce the live news themselves. VidiGo was industry first with a 100% software based workflow for Studio Automation. At the 2015 NAB Show VidiGo features Studio Automation 2.0. Its new open automation layer can not only control the existing VidiGo products but also easily integrate with existing third-party systems such as camera's, recorders or graphic engines. The power of VidiGo Live Assist is the full integration with existing newsroom systems, for instance AVID INews, making live of the creative staff easier than ever.
At 2015 NAB Show VidiGo will give a peek into the next generation of Studio Automation with the VidiGo Control Center ( VCC'). The VCC is a fully web-based control that is the first step in completely virtualized production workflows.
