Fox Sports Hires Barbara Blangiardi as SVP, Strategies and Creative Partnerships

Barbara Blangiardi joins Fox Sports as Senior Vice President, Strategies and Creative Partnerships. In this newly created position, Blangiardi leverages Fox Sports marketing opportunities between Fox broadcast affiliates, 20th Century Fox film divisions and television studios, and the company's ad sales and marketing groups.

Blangiardi has worked as a consultant for Fox Sports over the last year and was a key contributor to the network's World Cup and college football season launch campaigns.

Working in a consulting capacity for us over the last year, she has proven to be a valuable member of our team, and we are excited to welcome in someone with her creative and innovative abilities.

Blangiardi comes to Fox Sports from NBC Universal where she most recently held the title of Senior Vice President, Olympics Marketing, managing the marketing campaign for the Sochi Winter Olympic Games. Prior to that role, Blangiardi served as SVP, Creative Partnerships and Innovation, and worked closely with the sales, sports and entertainment groups to execute customized partnerships tying client brands to NBCU content and platforms. Under her direction, the department created more than 100 productions that helped boost engagement metrics for many featured brands, and in 2009, she was honored for her innovation by Advertising Age as one of the publication's Women to Watch. The group was also responsible for the production of the on-air promotion campaigns for the Beijing and London Olympic Games.

Prior to joining NBC, Blangiardi was part of a group working to develop and launch a new cable channel. She also worked as an Internal Marketing Consultant for River City Broadcasting, Director of Marketing Communications for Cellular One and held several positions, including Director of Marketing and Advertising, at KING TV in Seattle.

Blangiardi earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Oregon and is a former member of the executive board for the school's alumni association. A multiple World Promax award winner, she currently resides in Studio City, CA.
