Shoebox Living Needs a Home!
Those of you who have visited us at our head office will most probably have seen the Shoebox Living display. We are now offering a unique opportunity to exhibit this astounding work from the children of Kids Company at your premises for a limited time.
The Shoebox Living exhibition was created by 125 children from Kids Company between the ages of 8 - 10 who were asked to recreate a room from their home in a shoebox and give a short description. Much of the work is infused with a childlike joy and sense of love for their carers. However, it is striking to notice that 1 in 6 of the children involved in this project recreated households which raised serious concerns.
The work shared with you today presents the honest perceptions of children living in one of the most deprived areas of London.
We are looking to re-house this as soon as possible (deadline 24th April) ideally for three months whilst we move head offices. This will give you a unique opportunity to showcase our relationship and provide a wonderful talking point for visitors to your office.
Transporting the display - Essential information
Kids Company will organise delivery and collection and would be delighted if you felt able to support the costs of this but understand that this might not be possible.

Tablets needed
We are currently in the process of rolling out a clinical care evaluation package, called Psychlops. Developed by doctors and experts in the field, Psychlops is at the cutting edge of evaluation and therapy improvement. It is free to use, and helps track our childrens' progress through psychotherapy (such as cognitive based therapy or trauma counselling) which, in turn, will ensure that our therapy services continue to meet the high level of need appropriately.
Psyclops requires tablets so that clinicians and clients can input data together, such as identifying the key issues they are hoping to address through therapy and allowing them to return to these issues and assess their progression. It enables clinicians and clients to work together to define what their needs are and track their progress, leaving them feeling positive about their progress while the staff at Kids Company can continue to ensure their needs are successfully met.
How can you help?
We need at least 20 tablets to ensure clinicians in each centre have access to Psychlops at all times. A donation of 20 tablets would let us roll Psychlops out across eleven centres, to start collecting and analysing their experiences. This will help improve our clinical practice with immediate effect.
Our therapy sessions can be intense and unpredictable, given the incredibly high need and adversity of our kids. Having the tablets readily available in the therapy sessions would allow us to immediately act upon moments of breakthrough and/or turning points.

Get involved! Kids Company's Paint a School project.
Price: £1,500 (includes equipment and paints, and Kids Company artist)
Do you have a team of 6-15 volunteers, eager for a rewarding and hands on experience?
Why not sign up for our Paint a School project?!
Kids Company works with over 30 schools in London. Many of these inner city schools cannot afford upkeep and maintenance of communal areas that should be regularly enjoyed by the kids. The Paint a School project transforms these dull and baron spaces into bright colourful environments, reflecting the values of the school and the morale of the pupils. By improving their environment, the volunteers enhance the children's experience of school life, which in turn, improves their educational attainment and experience. You do not need any particular creative flare- a Kids Company artist will draw the outline of the mural, all the volunteers need to do is paint in-between the lines- like a giant paint by numbers!
If you are interested in Paint a School please contact maya.alexander@kidsco.org.uk or call 020 7202 2700 ext 226.
