In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, actor Penn Badgley, who plays the role of Joe Goldberg in You, has slammed the streaming service for creating so-called sexy serial killers .

The actor spoke out about how the streamer has romanticized real-life killers like Jeffrey Dahmer, Glamour US reports.

While acknowledging that his fictional character is written to attract audiences, Badgley has a few views on how serial killers are portrayed.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Badgley said that anyone who finds themselves drawn to serial killer characters should first look inward for why that might be.

But that doesn't excuse how these characters are portrayed to audiences, he adds.

Ted Bundy? That's on you. Jeffrey Dahmer? That is on-Netflix. That is squarely on the shoulders of Netflix.

The Jeffrey Dahmer series has been getting flack for the way it was perceived as romanticizing the killer, Glamour US reports.

Tweeps took to Twitter after the premiere to share that they found themselves somewhat attracted to Dahmer, played by actor Evan Peters.

But, this was not the first time Tweeps gushed over a murderer, albeit fictional.

In 2019, Badgley responded to Tweeps confessing that they lust after his character in You.

One Twitter fan even asked Badgley to kidnap them, to which he responded: No thx.
