Dolby certifies PRISMON audio/video monitoring and multiviewer solution from Rohde & Schwarz

R&S PRISMON, the software-based monitoring and multiviewer solution from Rohde & Schwarz, has passed all Dolby Laboratories certification tests. R&S PRISMON enables broadcasters and streaming service providers to monitor a wide variety of media formats with resolutions up to UHD/4K. Dolby Laboratories has now comprehensively and successfully tested and approved the system for decoding Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby E codecs.

R&S PRISMON was evaluated for the following features: support of all defined audio channel configurations up to 7.1, web browser user interface, input via ASI transport stream and SDI, display of Dolby metadata.

Dolby E is a digital audio encoding and decoding technology. It is used by broadcasters and in post production to transfer and store audio material. Dolby Digital Plus is a multichannel audio system. It was specifically designed for high-definition television (HDTV), HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc, and for encoding multichannel media for streaming, on-demand and download services.
