Ultra-HD FPGA IP-block and 6G-SDI on show at IBC 2013 - Hall 6.A18 11 Sep 2013
At IBC 2013 (13 - 17 September), OmniTeks IP division will be showing a new version of its OSVP Scalable Video Processor IP block, which extends the range of video standards supported up to 4K. The new OSVP 2.0 block is targeted at Xilinx Kintex FPGA and Zynq SoC devices and adds:
4K/60Hz support
User-definable 6-axis Colour Correction and Ultra HDTV Colour Space Conversion
Enhanced De-interlacer with best-in-class low angle diagonal interpolation
Noise Reduction
Image Sharpening and Softening controls
Frame-based register update, facilitating smooth animated transitions
The new block is being shown in a specially-adapted version of Xilinx's Real-Time Video Engine reference design, implemented on OmniTek's OZ745 Zynq SoC-based Video Development Platform.
OmniTek will also be showing a prototype of a 6G-SDI Input/Output FMC module (designed for its new Ultra 4K Tool Box, also on show) that supports SD, HD, 3G and the new 5.94Gb/s (6G-SDI) rate. It has two SDI input channels, two SDI output channels, and a DisplayPort 1.2 interface and has been developed in collaboration with Semtech Corporation. The new 6G-SDI channels mean that the module is compatible with single link 4K/30Hz images and dual link 4K/60Hz. The DisplayPort 1.2 interfaces support 4K/60Hz for connections to the latest 4K monitors and projectors.
Also newly targeted for Xilinx 6 Series and 7 Series FPGAs and SoCs is OmniTek's popular Multi-channel Streaming DMA Controller IP block - previously available only for Altera FPGAs - which offers highly-efficient data streaming across Gen 1, Gen 2 or Gen 3 PCI Express interfaces and is widely used in video capture and playback applications.
