News Corp's News UK Adds International Cricket to Sports Video Packages of Publications in Great Britain

The Times, The Sunday Times and The Sun to show clips and highlights of England's home international matches across all digital platforms

NEW YORK (April 25, 2014) - News Corp's News UK announced today that starting in May, readers of The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times will be able to watch near-live clips of England international cricket, including the next Ashes series.

Subscribers to selected digital packages of the News UK titles are already enjoying video coverage of Premier League and FA Cup football as well as Aviva Premiership rugby. This latest sports offering will give subscribers near-live international cricket coverage at home, work or on the move via PC, smartphone or tablet. This includes England's Investec Test Matches, Royal London One Day Internationals, NatWest International T20s and selected domestic cricket matches.

Achieving increased digital exposure for the sport is a key priority for ECB and this agreement will enable England supporters to follow the team online across all three formats of the international game.

The addition of the best cricket video action across the digital editions of the titles will add to readers' enjoyment of a great summer of sports coverage, and is in keeping with the company's strategy of achieving greater digital presence across platforms and deeper reader engagement.

The Times' chief cricket correspondent, Mike Atherton, said: These cricket rights add to the already brilliant sports coverage that The Timesand Sunday Times offer. It was a hugely disappointing winter for England and the upcoming series with Sri Lanka gives them the opportunity to rebuild under Peter Moores. It will be fascinating to watch.

The Sun's chief cricket correspondent, John Etheridge, said: With a new coach in Peter Moores and captain Alastair Cook under pressure and scrutiny, it is going to be a fascinating summer for England.

The opposition will be tough Sri Lanka won the World Twenty20 earlier this month and India have arguably the best batting line-up in the world.

Online readers of the News UK publications will enjoy 1 minute highlight clips of every session of play with a 5 minute highlights package at the end of the match. Those viewing on tablet or smartphone will have access to six 30 second clips per hour of play and 2 minute 30 second highlight packages updated regularly through the match.
