
Extreme Networks introduces a new network solution for professional audio/video environments Esta nueva soluci n est basada en tecnolog a AVB (Audio Video Bridging), que hace posible optimizar la red Ethernet para que pueda soportar tr fico de audio/v deo, con el rendimiento y la calidad de servicio exigida en estos entornos.
Extreme Networks acaba de lanzar una nueva soluci n de red orientada a entornos de producci n de audio/v deo profesional, as como a entornos en los que se hace un uso intensivo de contenidos multimedia, como recintos de eventos, salas de conferencias y exposiciones
Esta soluci n, basada en tecnolog a AVB, permite utilizar la red corporativa para transportar el tr fico de audio/v deo, sin necesidad de utilizar costosos sistemas dedicados y garantizando en todo momento el rendimiento y la calidad de servicio que exigen los entornos de producci n profesional.
Componentes de la soluci n
La soluci n AVB de Extreme Networks consta de varios componentes, entre los que se incluyen una amplia gama de switches (Summit X440, Summit X460, y Summit X670) con soporte AVB, que permiten dimensionar la red de acuerdo con las necesidades espec ficas del usuario, as como el sistema operativo ExtremeXOS integrado en su gama de productos, que proporciona alta disponibilidad, gestionabilidad y eficiencia operativa. En breve, el soporte AVB se ampliar a otros equipos del portfolio, como los switches BlackDiamond X8. Incluye adem s una completa aplicaci n de gesti n que simplifica la configuraci n de AVB, el despliegue de pol ticas, la resoluci n de problemas y la monitorizaci n de la red para optimizar el tr fico AV.
Esta soluci n proporciona la escalabilidad, densidad, redundancia, robustez y rendimiento que son requisitos b sicos de cualquier sistema de red orientado a entornos AV profesionales, que exigen alta velocidad, muy bajo retardo, alta fiabilidad y gesti n centralizada.
Gracias a esta soluci n, las instalaciones de AV profesional, que antes exig an una enorme cantidad de tiempo y recursos para poder conectar elementos de red propietarios o no-interoperables, ahora pueden disponer de una infraestructura simplificada, que reduce los costes de implementaci n, una gesti n unificada y la capacidad de soportar aplicaciones de audio y v deo de nueva generaci n.
A diferencia de propuestas de otros fabricantes, que utilizan switches de gama media o baja para montar soluciones de audio y v deo, Extreme Networks incorpora el soporte de AVB sobre las mismas plataformas de switching que ofrece para entornos cr ticos, como data centers, entornos de computaci n de alto rendimiento o redes troncales de operadores m viles.
Tecnolog a AVB
AVB es una tecnolog a que permite configurar y optimizar la red corporativa para que pueda soportar tr fico multimedia de uso profesional, reduciendo al m nimo la interferencia del tr fico general de red sobre el tr fico AV. Esto permite simplificar y reducir el coste de unos sistemas que tradicionalmente se han caracterizado por su complejidad, elevado coste y falta de interoperabilidad.
Entre los beneficios que aporta destaca la simplicidad y facilidad de gesti n. Todo el tr fico, tanto de datos como AV, es soportado por una nica infraestructura de red y gestionado desde una nica plataforma de gesti n. Adem s de una gesti n m s sencilla, aporta beneficios gracias a la estandarizaci n y convergencia de tecnolog as.
Los sistemas AV dedicados son dif cilmente escalables. Son tecnolog as pensadas para grandes instalaciones (estadios, estudios de producci n, parques de atracciones). Utilizan protocolos propietarios y requieren diferentes adaptadores para comunicarse con otros sistemas. AVB proporciona escalabilidad, al permitir hacer despliegues de cualquier dimensi n y escalarlos f cilmente, igual que se escala una red Ethernet.
Por otro lado, esta tecnolog a simplifica el cableado ya que permite transportar todo el tr fico AV por la misma red Ethernet, lo que simplifica sensiblemente el sistema de cableado.
Adem s, la tecnolog a AVB mejora de la sincronizaci n de la red para que pueda soportar m ltiples flujos de tr fico altamente sensibles a retardos; introduce el protocolo SRP (Simple Reservation Protocol), que permite a una aplicaci n o equipo notificar a diferentes elementos de la red dentro de una ruta determinada los recursos que tienen que reservar para soportar un determinado flujo de tr fico, y por cu nto tiempo deben ser reservados; e implementa una serie de reglas de formaci n de colas de env o y reenv o para garantizar que el flujo de tr fico atraviesa la red dentro de los m rgenes de retardo establecidos, eliminando retardos de buffering en la red (los retardos pueden ser aceptables en transmisi n de datos, pero no en transmisiones de audio/v deo).
