METLIFE CREATES MORE AN ,500 NEW JOBS IN CHARLOTTE

COMPANY EXCEEDS LOCAL JOBS GOAL AHEAD OF SCHEDULE CHARLOTTE, NC, April 14, 2015 - MetLife today announced that it has created more than 1,500 new jobs in Charlotte, NC, as part of the establishment of a headquarters for its U.S. Retail division there. In March 2013, the company announced plans to create more than 2,600 jobs in North Carolina between the new U.S. Retail headquarters in Charlotte and another new headquarters for its Global Technology & Operations division in Cary. As part of that announcement, MetLife committed to creating 1,386 new jobs at the Charlotte campus by the end of 2015.

We're very pleased that we've not only met our jobs commitment in Charlotte, but we've exceeded it, and we've done so months ahead of schedule, said Eric Steigerwalt, executive vice president of MetLife's U.S. Retail division. We came to Charlotte for three fundamental reasons-great talent, great partners and great community-and the city has truly exceeded our expectations on all fronts, proving to be the perfect home for our business.
