Home Control Technology Manufacturer Honored for Designing 2004s Most Effective and Customer-Satisfying Universal Remote Product CHANHASSEN, MN - December 14, 2004 - Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), the leading producer of home entertainment system control technology, was recognized on CE Pro magazines list of High-Impact Products of the Year for 2004. RTIs RP-6 Remote Control Processor was nominated for the honor by CE Pros readers, and was ultimately selected by members of the CE Pro community. The RP-6 is a centralized signal processor that functions as a home control centerpiece, distributing commands from a single RTI remote to A/V systems throughout the home via IR emitters and repeaters. The product was chosen for its simplicity of installation, and ability to give homeowners reliable control of each of their entertainment systems.
Having the RP-6 Remote Control Processor named CE Pros High-Impact Product of the Year drives the RTI team to continue seeking greater innovation in home control technology, said Pete Baker, director of sales and marketing at RTI. We worked with installers to ensure the RP-6 is the best solution for designing a highly intuitive and flexible control platform for any home, and making the High-Impact list is a great affirmation of our design efforts. Custom installers can expect RTI to keep building home control products that allow them to make their customers entertainment systems simple and fun to use every day.
For the third year in a row, CE Pro published the High-Impact list to highlight the years most important products, with winners selected from a list of nominations made by the magazines readers. The winners represent the most time-saving, money-making, and customer-pleasing creations in 13 major categories of custom home technology. The RP-6 was chosen for the Universal Remote category.
The RP-6 Remote Control Processor simplifies all the signal communication and distribution functions necessary for controlling todays advanced entertainment systems, centralizing the power at the processor. Previously, operating platforms with a single universal remote control would result in lost or incomplete commands and macro sequences due to many environmental and performance limitations. The RP-6 ensures powerful and precise signal transmission, foregoing use of an internal receiver, and using standard IR emitters and repeater systems, which allow installers to instantly scale an RTI control system to the scope or complexity of any project. The RP-6 also stores and dispatches all macro strings and IR codes from its processor, requiring only a single IR or RF trigger command for perfect execution of macros every time.
For intelligent power management, RTI designed video and voltage-sensing modules to monitor the status the RP-6s supported components. The company also offers an RS-232 interface, allowing installers to easily integrate the RP-6 with todays popular home automation networks.
