
From June 1 2013 Tricolor TV subscribers will be able to watch childrens TV channels TiJi and Gulli as part of the thematic Childrens package The launch of the new package on Tricolor Tv is timed to the International Childrens Protection Day.
The new thematic package will include 8 popular TV channels for children. For 500 rubles a year (the cost of annual subscription to this thematic package) the subscribers will get access to entertainment programs for all ages (0 to 14), edutainment programs, animation, series for teenagers and programs for the whole family. The service will be available to the subscribers residing in the European part of Russia (within the reception area of Eutelsat 36B) using MPEG-4 equipment. Tricolor TV plans to add 300K subscribers to the Kids package by the end of the year.
"There is a stable demand for childrens channels, and we decided to offer them as a separate package. We are confident that the new offer will be widely popular with our subscribers," says Julia Shakhmanova, Content Director at "Tricolor TV".
Tricolor TV is the largest Russian satellite TV operator, operating in the European part of Russia, Sibera, the Urals and Russian Far East since 2005. According to IHS Screen Digest, Tricolor TV was number one company in the world in 2012 in terms of subscriber base growth rate; it is the most mass operator of pay TV in Europe and among the 5 world leaders in pay TV in this respect. Tricolor is number 3 in the world rating of largest satellite TV operators in terms of the number of subscribers.
In March 2013 . Tricolor TV subscriber base exceeded 12,4 mln households of which 9,12 mln were pay TV subscribers; its viewer audience is over 30 mln - in other words, every fifth person in Russia watches Tricolor TV. According to research by Json & Partners, Tricolor TV leads the Russian Pay TV market with 37,4% of subscribers; its share in satellite TV segment is 83/%. The total number of households subscribed to HDTV offer on Tricolor TV has exceeded 1,5 mln - this result has no precedent among Russian digital TV operators.
Tricolor TV is definitely a leader in Russian satellite TV and one of the fastest growing operators in the world. TiJi is the French TV channel for kids 0 to 7; the first channel in Europe created in 2000 in France expressly for children of pre-school age. By Combining many years experience in kids TV and knowledge of the Russian market, creators of TiJi present the very best in quality and the most interesting content to young audiences who want to watch TiJi in Russian.
The French TV channel Gulli was created especially for children and teenagers 6 to 15 and their parents. The channel owes it name to Gulliver - the curious and brave hero of the world-famous book always ready for adventures. Gulli has been one of the leading youth and family channels in France.
Gulli helps to learn and discover the world in a fun and entertaining way. The channels programs are filled with positive role models, there is no aggression, violence or foul language on the channel.
Together with Gulli heroes - characters of animation series, live action, reality shows and documentaries - young viewers discover important values, like friendship, patience, openness, respect to those around us, love of your country, neighborhood and home, caring about nature, taking good care of health and well-being of your family.
The Russian-language versions of TiJi and Gulli were launched by Lagardere Active in 2009 in partnership with Universal Distribution; the channels are distributed in the networks of leading pay TV operators via satellite, cable and IP TV in Russia and its neighboring countries,.
