ESPN Renews Exclusive Broadcast Rights to English Premier League in Brazil

ESPN has acquired the exclusive broadcast rights in Brazil for the English Premier League for the 2016-17 through the 2018-19 seasons. The agreement includes exclusive rights for all media, including pay television, streaming (WatchESPN), VOD, and other exclusive content.

The English Premier League brings together stars such as Falc o Garc a, Rooney, Oscar, Diego Costa, Aguero, Fernandinho, Felipe Coutinho, Petr Cech, Schweinsteiger and Roberto Firmino, and Brazilian National Team members Ramires and William, among many others who delight sports fans in Brazil and around the world.

During the past two seasons, ESPN has grown the League's pay-TV audience on its networks in Brazil by 149%. The EPL match with the largest audience on ESPN in 2015 was played between Arsenal and Chelsea on April 26 and placed ESPN viewership first in ratings among sports channels.

ESPN Brazil's coverage of the Premier League will air across a variety of multimedia platforms, including ESPN's television networks ESPN, ESPN+, and ESPN Brasil. WatchESPN, ESPN Brazil's broadband network, and its national digital platforms ESPN.com.br and ESPN Sync, it second screen app, will also offer extensive coverage each season.

ESPN Brazil is the home of top European soccer events and other flagship soccer championships.
