As the SIGFOX Network Operator (SNO) in the UK, we run these events to help potential partners and customers to get deeper insight into the technology and how they could start to benefit. SIGFOX and our ecosystem partners Telit and Avnet-Memec joined us on the day.

So far around 20 companies, ranging from small start-ups to large technology players and major corporates have taken part in these events.

The morning session provided commercial insight into Arqiva's SIGFOX network and explored international case studies outlining how the network can best support a variety of verticals within the IoT. To give a flavour of Arqiva's wider business and the different types of communications service that we manage - we also held a site tour around our on-site TV playout area and master control room.

The hands-on afternoon session included a technical workshop providing delegates with a comprehensive overview of Ultra Narrow Band (UNB) communication using Arqiva's SIGFOX network. Exploration of modem/chipset integration, Arqiva's network topology and the backend/portal were demonstrated by experts from both Arqiva and SIGFOX. We went through on-boarding processes including setting up subscriptions and the certification of SIGFOX-ReadyTM devices. Avnet-Memec and Telit talked about the SIGFOX certified modules and devices they already offer which can help other companies to develop new services faster. In addition, attendees were able to start sending messages through the network and access data through the SIGFOX portal.

We received some fantastic feedback and responses from delegates at both of the partner days we've run so far many of whom were excited by the potential to use Arqiva's SIGFOX network to support new devices, service and business models. This feedback is also helping us to refine and improve the way we run future events.
