Student success at IBC2014

Education and training are at the heart of any industry and the broadcast and media technology arena is no different. Recognising and encouraging new talent and helping support development of students hoping to go into this market is key to its future growth and success.

Every year, IABM's Educational Foundation provides a once in a lifetime opportunity to 8 students studying towards a technical education at degree level with the chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to visit the IBC show in Amsterdam. The successful students get to see the amazing technology being showcased at the event and meet experts and prospective employers. Over five days they have the chance to investigate and advance their own career futures and gain the opportunity to brief fellow students on their fantastic experience on their return.

At this year's 10th Annual International Business Conference, Adam Plowden, a videographer and motion graphics artist and former IABM student winner, was announced as The Young Person of the Year Award' winner. Plowden won an IABM Student Engineering Award in 2013 which afforded him a visit to IBC. He took advantage of the opportunity, networking and developing a range of contacts at the show that would help him as he began his career. Several IABM members commented on Plowden's enthusiasm and passion for the industry.
