CAMBRIDGE, Mass. December 18, 2014 Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), the leading provider of cloud services for delivering, optimizing and securing online content and business applications, today announced the appointment of Erica Chapman as vice president of corporate services, effective January 5, 2015. Chapman will be responsible for leading the team charged with the ongoing development of Akamais world-class facilities, as well as the strategy and planning of opening new office space. Today, Akamai has 57 offices across five continents. Chapman will report to James Gemmell, executive vice president and chief human resources officer.
Prior to joining Akamai, Chapman served as head of real estate for the Americas division of OSRAM, one of the worlds leading light manufacturers. Her experience also includes positions as Vice President of Global Real Estate & Facilities with inVentiv Health and Director of Corporate Real Estate with adidas Group.
Over the course of her career, Erica has been instrumental in helping a number of leading enterprises expand their real estate and global facilities, drive operational efficiencies, and take on new governance models, said James Gemmell. We believe her leadership experience will complement Akamais already strong corporate services team.
Akamai has always excelled at being able to scale its business, whether you consider the strength of its global technology platform, or its facilities and employee presence in markets around the globe, said Chapman. Im excited to be joining the company at a time of rapid hiring, and to help build upon an already well-established and well-structured corporate real estate presence.
Chapman is a licensed attorney and member of the American Bar Association. She serves on the New England board of directors for CoreNet Global, the MassEcon board of directors on behalf of CoreNet, and is an editorial board member for the Corporate Real Estate Journal.
She received her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts and her Juris Doctorate from New England Law in Boston.
