Knysna Film Festival Opens with Fiela Se Kind

The Knysna Film Festival will open with the Festival Premiere of Fiela Se Kind on Tuesday 29th October 2019. This is an exclusive event ticketed only and tickets are now available on Computicket.

The festival has confirmed 42 films over the duration of the festival from the 29th October 2019 till 2nd November 2019. The Awards Gala and closing film will take place at The Premier Resort Hotel on the Saturday 2nd November 2019. The closing film will be Stroop which is doing incredibly well on the International Festival circuit. This is also a ltd ticket event.

There will be 120 screenings over the days of the festival in three precincts: Knysna Waterfront, Thesen Harbour Town and The Premier Resort The Moorings. The films are a mixture of genre and come from all over the world. We are very excited by the number of submissions we received for our first festival and the support from the stakeholders says festival Director Patrick Walton.

Knysna is a perfect setting for the Festival which is a festival for the Garden Route. Please watch the video link provided.

The National Film & Video foundation, Film and Promotion Unit of Wesgro, Knysna Municipality and the Garden Route Film Office have all given their support for the venture. The judging has commenced and two Emmy members are judging the films. The semi-finalists will be announced in the first week of October.

We encourage industry to attend and participate in the industry program which has a number of dedicated industry activities and open workshops during the four days.
