Ateme's TITAN encoders powered the Viacom18 UHD experience in 17 different languages for the Indian Premier League 2023.
The encoders delivered UHD video with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision.
Ateme s future-proof solution, available for both linear and OTT services, is ready for targeted advertising through Dynamic Ad Insertion.
Ateme, a global leader in video compression, delivery, and streaming solutions with innovation at its core, today announced that it was behind the top-quality video and immersive audio experiences delivered in 17 languages by Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd. during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Throughout the tournament, cricket fans were able to enjoy an exceptional and immersive UHD TV viewing experience for the first time in India.
The true-to-life audio-visual display of one of the world's most-watched and highest-value sports events was enabled by Ateme's TITAN encoders and decoders. Supporting both linear and OTT services, the future-proof encoders and decoders empowered Viacom18 to reach audiences on any screen. With the integration of Dolby Atmos, an immersive audio technology, and Dolby Vision, enhancing color quality, viewers were treated to an outstanding experience that elevated cricket-watching to new heights. The encoders also lay the foundation for Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI), equipping Viacom18 for targeted advertising.
India is the seventh largest country in the world, and cricket is one of its most popular sports, reaching 31 million concurrent views during the final match of the IPL through Viacom18 this year, said Jibu Mathew, Country Manager, South-Asia at Ateme. We are delighted to have supported Viacom18 s technology strategies so IPL 2023 viewers could enjoy UHD live cricket matches anywhere from the comfort of their living room to their smart phone or tablet with an in-stadium atmosphere in UHD, featuring immersive audio and exceptional image quality, for the first time in India.
