New Search Capabilities for Edit Bridge from Marquis Broadcast

Edit Bridge search panel enables custom searches for Avid Interplay

Edit Bridge is successfully used worldwide in production companies, broadcasters and post houses to integrate non-Avid editors and artists with an Avid Interplay PAM or Media Central Production Management environments. It enables the attachment of many more non-Avid creative applications to the Avid environment, such as Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, Apple FCP X, GVG Edius or other desktop applications. The latest release of the software includes a new search panel, which gives users the freedom build flexible searches across entire Interplay database. The search panel will operate in addition to the current browse panel giving users greater flexibility in how they access Avid assets.

Edit Bridge requires the user to log in using an Interplay account so that what is displayed, accessible and uploadabl is all controlled based upon that users permissions.

The new panel allows the user to search for different Avid asset types such as Master Clips, Sub Clips or Sequences. The user can browse to any Interplay folder and search through the contents of that folder and any sub-folders that are contained within it.

The fields which will be searched are configurable so that the panel can be adapted to local requirements. These fields can be displayed in the panel with custom names or grouped together to help users understand their meaning. Multiple search criterial can be linked together to enable more complex searches. All searches can be specified over a variety of time periods based on the modification date of the assets.

The results of the search are displayed below the search criteria together with the basic metadata and thumbnail. From there the user can access these assets and transfer them directly to their creative tool of choice. Content in the correct codec is streamed direct to Premiere for immediate editing, whilst other content is copied and re-wrapped. Then, the completed story can be delivered back to ISIS with Interplay Check In'. Now, with the new search panel, editors are able to create and save their own custom searches, making the whole process even simpler.
